After leaving a bloody Riot lying in the parking lot just a week ago, Josie is still smiling. In fact knowing how gossip travels, Dax was notified the second it ended and ran to Riot's aid, only to find him a punching bag. Certainly that only fueled the fire burning inside Dax, for he has always hated Josie. Even when they were fighting on the same side, there was contempt and jealousy. Oh we can claim that the jealousy stems from a deep seeded torch that Dax carries for Josie, which is possible, but that would only be half of it. Dax hates to be out shined. Especially by a former student.
Surely you've seen the of us go head to head in previous companies and even now you have witnessed the carnage that is left behind once the two of us are finished with one another. I could even say that Riot was a victim of our war, but that's not true. Because Riot was a solider in your army, he sang your praises day and night. Maybe even on some level he thought that his deeds would somehow get the job done for you or simply wear me down enough for it to be easier for his idol.
However you slice it, everything failed. Even when you tried to take out Shane. Face it Dax, none of your plans every succeed. Well let me amend that, you do get the upper hand sometimes, but in end..it all unravels. Josie sits lazily in what appears to be an executive chair, feet proped up on the desk and her hands forming a tee-pee at her midsection. As she speaks calmly and directly.
"Has the news hit your ears yet Dax? I'm sure by now it has and you're just seething with anger over what I did to your buddy Riot, but it wasn't a senseless beating...I had my reasons. In fact I believe this is what Riot craved, week after week, he taunted me and was starved for my attention well now he got exactly what he wanted, a free vaction. I feel no remorse for my actions and the devil on my shoulder helped me complete the task. You see Dax, you may not believe it, but Blake is very much alive. He shares with me the details on the weaknesses of humans and really who knows better what Riot's weakness is?
I know there has to be steam rolling out of your ears right now, but listen closely. I only did what was needed because I could have ended Riot altogether, but I left him with the gift of life. Which I think is pretty generous after all that he's done to me. In fact should you be so lucky this Sunday. I know that you were hoping to bruise more than my ego by having Dorian put me through the ring and I'll admit that I was in pain for a long while after that, but it hasn't stopped me. Which frustrates you to the core. How many years have you been trying to rid me from this business? How many different obstacles have you gone through just to put me through hell? Oh you can blame interference on Rev, Shane or whoever else has my back, but the truth is you're a failure."
Josie pauses for a moment to smile and to give Dax time to react to the insult. She knows how easily she can push his buttons and right now she's mashing them all down at once and loving every second of it. Swinging her legs to the floor, Josie spins in the chair to face the camera and to stare right at Dax. Her verbal assault dripping with sarcasm and delight.
"Ouch...bet that stung! Go ahead shake it off and pretend that I didn't just pierce a nerve. You've always been good at pretending, huh Dax? You can imagine yourself champion at every turn, why you can probably invision a world where I don't exist as well, but guess what buddy it's all make believe because here I am still champion and still the thorn in your side.
Revenge. Such an understated word. I know that you're going to be gunning for me and I know that this is going to a bloody battle, after all isn't that how it ends up one way or another, but who will be the victor is the burning question. I say myself and you claim it for yourself. All I can promise you...is that it will be time well served."
Josie pushes to her feet and walks to the door as now it's apparent by the nameplate on the door, it's Dax's office. His desk a mess of papers, but everything else looks untouched. You'd expect something more as like a warning of things to come, but maybe that's just too simple. Josie pauses just inside the door and looks back at the camera.
"I left you something on your desk. Shall we call it...breaking news?"
Josie snickers as she exists the room and the camera focuses more closely on the paper atop the desk. Beneath the stack lies the very pipe used to take out Riot. Well if that don't steam your buns...nothing will.
