Travis crouched down on the edge of the rooftops, his eyes surveying the nightclub across the road from him. Well, more specifically, the alley next to the nightclub. He was waiting. There'd been a few disappearances traceable back to the nightclub over the past few weeks, and that had raised his suspicions. Brushing back his trenchcoat, he fingered the handle of one of his custom-made Para-Ordnance P-18. Unlike most guns, these were custom made to fire a variation of bullets, the variants being in the clips themselves which were around his waist. Travis rubbed at his jaw for a moment, before seeing the slicked haired dark-skinned man walk out of the club, his arm around the shoulder of a brunette. The guys dress code looked like it belonged in the 1980s, and Levitt grinned, watching as the man crossed the street and took the brunette down the alley beside his street. Walking over to the side of the building, Levitt climbed down the Fire Escape as quickly and as noiselessly as he could, dropping the last few inches to land on his feet, popping his head up in time to see the man and woman turn the corner. Slipping one of the P-18s from its holster, Levitt slid in a clip of wooden bullets and then walked to the corner. Waiting for a moment and listening to the darkness, Levitt heard a snarl and a scream, and quickly spun around, levelling his gun straight up, thankful for the suppressor on the end as he eyed the vampire about to sink his teeth into the brunette.
"Hey! Fang Boy!"
The vampire turned to look back at Travis, who grinned quickly.
"Get out of my city."
Travis quickly pulled the trigger, hitting the vampire in the forehead and knocking him to the ground. Marching forward quickly, Travis raised the gun and pointed it directly at the vampires chest, double tapping the fanged bastard in the heart, and watching as it burst into dust. Headshots didn't kill them, but they knocked them off their feet and left them out of it enough to be finished. Slipping the gun back in his holster, Travis turned to the shocked woman and reached up, feeling the wound on her neck.
"He didn't have time to properly sink his teeth in. Go home and be thankful."
Travis then turned and marched off, leaving the stunned woman behind. He didn't have time to be thanked or have a relieved woman. There were still more nightcrawlers out there, and he still had plenty of night hours left to kill in.

To say that she had been in hiding was the easiest way to put it. Her old mansion in New Orleans, abandoned. There were too many years of eternity to sit still for long. She had traveled to France, China, Scotland, India, Japan. The globe was her playground. For a few years. Then it was time to come home. She had gone to retrieve Phantom, her husky, from a person who had lived near her and found them dead, an old centuried style 'M' carved into their palm. She found Phantom; throat slit and long since gone. He was here. She made her way into the city, finding an old newspaper in the trash and retrieving it.
"Another disappearance puts count up to 8." was blasted across the headline of the front page. So many people who were gone, without a trace. She followed her instincts and wound down the alleys and streets until she heard a shout. In the shadows of the roof of the building, she crept up on the scene. Her eyes narrowed and her head tilted as she was hit with a familiar scent. A shot, and a man was on the ground. Another man came to stand above the other, shooting twice more into the chest of, what scent she could catch, another vampire. He said something to a young brown haired woman who ran the other way down the alley. She felt a small smile cross her lips when she heard his voice, and recognized the comfort it brought her. She followed his short pace along the roof when he stopped. She crept to the edge and felt her coat billow behind her as she jumped down to the ground, effortlessly.
She was taking silent steps closer to the man, knowing he could kill her at any moment. He swung around and drew his pistol, aiming at her. She grabbed the gun and pointed it past her.
"Come on, Trav. You gonna kill me?"

As Travis walked down the alley he had the feeling someone was watching him. He hated that feeling, but it was one that had saved his life over the years. Stopping briefly, he heard someone land in the alley behind him and instantly spun around, pulling his gun out as he did, but the brunette was quicker, darting in and grabbing his arm, his first two bullets flying harmlessly past her shoulder, before she got within his arm range, and he had a chance to recognise her.
Ashley.
The one vampire he had ever let get close, the one woman that had ever gotten under his skin, the lady he conisdered his one great love. But those were years ago, and Travis had been burned too many times. As Ashley held one arm, she hadn't realised his other hand had drawn as well, and he looked deep into Ashley's hazel eyes before responding.
"No. Going to sting like a bitch though."
Travis fired his second gun, sending the silver bullet down into Ashley's foot. The vampire growled but Travis was quicker, slamming an elbow up into Ashley's jaw to send her back a step, before pressing one gun against her heart, as he looked into her eyes.
"Been a while, Ash. Still enjoying the taste of blood?"

She felt the barrel of the gun in her and was annoyed at the burning sensation in her foot. She attempted to keep calm and tried not to overdo any emotions. It had been very long since the last time she had actually had to deal with a human for anything besides purposes of food. A brief burning reminder of words Marius had once spoken to her, "Try not to eat your friends." She let a small growl come from her throat as she hit the gun away and pushed Travis into the wall. She held his collar in her fists and leaned close to his ear.
"Actually, I was. Mostly pigs, nasty little suckers. But only the occasional person. You hear the French snobbery about their fantastic wine. You should try their blood."
She leaned down and let her tongue flick once at his throat before letting him go and backing up. She leaned against the other wall of the alley, crossing her arms across her chest and letting a smug smile cross her lips as she watched Travis. Still looked as good as he ever did.
"I'm trying, okay. Human blood is not exactly the easiest thing to kick these days. Not when there are so many stupid bimbos running around the world worried about their little doggies and their shoes.
The lowest low can help you choose to rise up above it all. She began pacing a small stretch of alley back and forth as she spoke.
"You want to know what I did at summer camp?! I massacred a small town 50 miles north of New Orleans. 100 people, dead. The news called it some strange virus. Covered by all the national news companies. Scared a lot of people shitless. Well it wasn't some virus. It was my wake up call. Marius had some bullshit sire effect and used it to his full advantage. Took away my inhibitions and my humanity. I was more than happy to kill each and every single one of them. When he left me, the bond faded and my humanity returned. And by the time it did, was right about the time the authorities and the CDC were rolling into that small little town. So I almost got caught.
She stopped pacing and leaned against the cool brick. She rested and watched her former love as she waited for him to say something. [/b]
